This form expects to be an easy and simple way to prepare your application, allowing you to introduce progressively the details and information required.
You must start creating your application form by setting your USER and PASSWORD. From the beginning, you have to choose the type of scholarship for which you want to receive the support of the Programme.

Before starting to fill in the Application Form, you must be sure of having all the certificates and language skills required to attend the sought programmes(s) and the institution(s). We also strongly advise you to read the Guidelines for Applicants before starting.

If an applicant submits more than one application, the system will automatically consider the most recent one.

 

Duration of the scholarship

Normal duration of the mobility scholarships:

Undergraduate some 4 months, mostly 10 months
Master some 4 months, mostly 10 months
Doctorate mostly 10 months, some 6 months to 27 months
Post-Doctorate 6 months to 10 months
Staff mostly 1 months, some 2/3 months

 

Eligibility Criteria

European students

To be eligible, European undergraduate and master students as well as doctorate and post-doctorate
candidates, referred as "European students":

  1. Must be a national of one of the eligible European countries;
  2. For Target Group 1 (TGI): students need to be registered at one of the European countries HEIs within the partnership at the time of submitting their application to the partnership. Undergraduate students must have successfully completed at least one year of studies in their home institution;
  3. For Target Group 2 (TGII): students need either to be registered in a HEI (not included in the partnership) of any European country or to have obtained a university degree or equivalent from a HEI of any European country;
  4. Must have sufficient knowledge of the language of the courses or of one of the languages currently spoken in the hosting countries;
  5. Undergraduate students must have successfully completed at least one year of studies at first higher education level.
  6. Must have NOT benefited from a previous scholarship for the same type of mobility under another project under the EMA2-STRAND1 (does not apply to the staff mobility).

 

Third-country students

To be eligible, third-country undergraduate and master students as well as doctoral and post-doctoral
candidates, referred as "third-country students":

  1. Must be a national of one of the third-countries covered by the relevant lot;
  2. Must have not resided nor have carried out their main activity (studies, work, etc) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in any of the eligible European countries at the time of submitting their application to the partnership. This rule does not apply to TGIII candidates;
  3. For Target Group 1 (TGI): students need to be registered at one of the third-country HEIs within the partnership at the time of submitting their application to the partnership. Undergraduate students must have successfully completed at least one year of studies in their home institution;
  4. For Target Group 2 (TGII): students need either to be registered in a HEI (not included in the partnership) of the third-country concerned by the lot or to have obtained a university degree or equivalent from a HEI of these third-countries;
  5. For Target Group 3 (TGIII): students need to be nationals of one of the third-countries concerned by the lot and be part of the vulnerable target groups;
  6. Must have sufficient knowledge of the language of the courses or of one of the languages currently spoken in the hosting countries.
  7. Must have NOT benefited from a previous scholarship for the same type of mobility under another project under the EMA2-STRAND1 (does not apply to the staff mobility).

 

Academic and administrative staff

In order to be eligible, academic and administrative staff hereafter referred as "staff":

  1. Must be a national of one of the eligible countries;
  2. For Target Group 1 (TGI): Third- country staff must work in or be associated to one of the third-country HEIs participating in the partnership. EU staff must work in or be associated to one of the EU HEIs participating in the partnership;

For Target Group 2 (TGII): Third-country staff must work in or be associated to a HEI (not included in the partnership) of any third-country concerned by the lot. EU staff must work in or be associated to a HEI (not included in the partnership) of any European country.

 

Target Groups

Target Group 1
(TG1)
Nationals of the Asian countries concerned by the geographical lot who are registered in one of the Asian partner institutions that is a member of the partnership.
Nationals of European countries who are registered in one of the European partner institutions that is member of the partnership.
Undergraduate
Mobility
(UM)
These scholarships support mobility to do part of the undergraduate course in European partner universities for Asian students or in Asian partner universities for European students. The candidates must be already enrolled in an undergraduate course at a partner university for the complete duration of the mobility (completed at least the first year at partner universities). Scholarship duration 10 months for Asian students; 4-10 months for European students.
Master Full (MF) These scholarships support to do full master course in European partner universities for the candidates of Asian partners from countries like Bhutan and Nepal which do not have master programmes. The candidates must be holding an undergraduate or equivalent degree at the time of mobility and employed by a partner university. The scholarship duration is normally 12 months (i.e. one year full master courses).
Master Mobility
(MM)
These scholarships support mobility to do part of the master course in European partner universities for Asian students or in Asian partner universities for European students. The candidates must be already enrolled in a master course at a partner university for the complete duration of the mobility. Scholarship duration is 10 months for Asian students; 4-10 months for European students.
Doctorate
Mobility
(DM)
These scholarships support mobility to do part of the doctorate (PhD) research in European partner universities for Asian students or in Asian partner universities for European students). The candidates must be already enrolled in a PhD course at a partner university for the complete duration of the mobility. Scholarship duration is 10-18 months for Asian students; 6-10 months for European students.
Post-Doctorate (PD) These scholarships support mobility to do post-doctoral research in European partner universities for Asian PD researchers or in Asian partner universities for European PD researchers. The candidates must have obtained a doctorate degree and must be employed by a partner university. Mobility duration is 6-10 months.
Staff
(AC/AD)
Must be working as academic or administrative staff at a partner university. Mobility duration is normally 1 month.
Target Group Academic Level Requirements
Target Group 2
(TG2)
Nationals of the Asian countries concerned by geographical lot 4, who:
  • are registered/work in a higher education institution of these countries that is not
included in the partnership (students and staff);
  • have obtained a university degree or equivalent by an institution of these countries (students only).
Nationals of European countries who:
  • are either registered/work in a HEI (not included in the partnership) of any European country (students and staff);
  • have obtained a university degree or equivalent by a HEI of any European country (students only).
Master
Mobility
(MM)
These scholarships support mobility to do part of the master course in European partner universities for Asian students or in Asian partner universities for European students. The candidates must be already enrolled in a master degree at the time of mobility from any university of the targeted countries, that is not included in the project partnership. Scholarship duration is 10 months for Asian students; 4-10 months for European students.
Doctorate
Mobility
(DM)
These scholarships support mobility to do part of the doctorate (PhD) research in European partner universities for Asian students or in Asian partner universities for European students). The candidates must be already enrolled in a PhD degree at the time of mobility at any university of the targeted countries, that is not included in the project partnership. Scholarship duration is normally 10-18 months for Asian students; 6-10 months for European students.
Post-Doctorate
(PD)
These scholarships support mobility to do post-doctoral research in European partner universities for Asian PD researchers or in Asian partner universities for European PD researchers. The candidates must have obtained a doctorate degree from any university of the targeted countries. Mobility duration is 6-10 months.
Staff
(AC/AD)
Must be working as academic or administrative staff at any institution of the targeted countries. Mobility duration is normally 1 month.
Target Group Academic Level Requirements
Target Group 3
(TG3)
Nationals of the Asian countries concerned by geographical lot 4 who are in particularly vulnerable situations, for social and political reasons. For example:
1) having a refugee status or asylum beneficiaries (international or according to the national legislation of one of the European recipient countries) or
2) it can be proved that they have been the object of unjustified expulsion from university on racial, ethnic, religious, political, gender or sexual inclination or
3) they belong to an indigenous population targeted by a specific national policy or IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons)
Proof of Vulnerability is required.
Undergraduate
Mobility
(UM)
These scholarships support mobility to do part of the undergraduate course in European partner universities for Asian students. The candidates must be already enrolled in an undergraduate course at any partner or non-partner university in targeted countries (completed at least the first year). Scholarship duration 10 months for Asian students.
Master Full (MF) These scholarships support to do full master course in European partner universities for Asian candidates. The candidates must be holding an undergraduate degree at the time of mobility. The scholarship duration is normally 12 months (i.e. one year full master courses).
Master Mobility
(MM)
These scholarships support mobility to do part of the master course in European partner universities for Asian students. The candidates must be already enrolled in a master course at any partner or non-partner university in targeted countries. Scholarship duration is 10 months.
Doctorate
Mobility
(DM)
These scholarships support mobility to do part of the doctorate (PhD) research in European partner universities for Asian students. The candidates must be already enrolled in a PhD course at any partner or non-partner university in targeted countries. Scholarship duration is 10-18 months.
Post-Doctorate (PD) These scholarships support mobility to do post-doctoral research in European partner universities for Asian PD researchers. The candidates must have obtained a doctorate degree. Mobility duration is 6-10 months.
